Personal Profile
He Ruili, female, was born in 1956 in Kunming, Yunnan, with ancestral roots in Ningbo, Zhejiang. She is a member of the Yunnan Artists Association, a researcher at the Yunnan Provincial Institute of Cultural History, and a member of the Northwest Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. She specializes in Chinese ink painting (floral-and-bird and landscape), earnestly learning from ancient masters and predecessors, drawing upon the brushwork and aesthetic charm of traditional schools, and adhering to the principle of “learning from nature externally, gaining inspiration internally” as exemplified by Fan Kuan, Li Tang, and Li Cheng. She has devoted herself to rigorous practice, striving to be a faithful follower in the殿堂 of art. Her artistic journey began with early studies in floral-and-bird painting, using Yunnan’s unique tropical flora and rainforest blossoms as subject matter to create numerous expressive, freehand-style works reflecting Yunnan’s natural ecology. Later, she focused exclusively on landscape painting. Her works have been hung and collected by district, municipal, and provincial government reception hotels. Her artworks have been exhibited multiple times both within and outside the province and have been published.
