Painter and calligrapher Tang Yurong (searchable on Baidu), born in 1962, is from Zhaotong, Yunnan, and studied under renowned Yunnan artists such as Mr. Wu Xiling. Member of the China Artists Association, member of the China Collectors Appraisal Association, the China International Art Appraisal and Authentication Center, and the National Professional Art Talent Evaluation Committee: State Level One Artist; member of the China Painters and Calligraphers Association; specially invited painter of the Yunnan Traditional Culture Research Association; recommended Chinese artist by Da Zhonghua Painting and Calligraphy Network; contracted poet-painter-calligrapher for the Xi Zhi Painting and Calligraphy Newspaper. His creative techniques have evolved from singular to diverse, persistently pursuing his unique artistic style—particularly in flower-and-bird painting and peonies—with bold and vibrant color usage that vividly conveys the splendor and opulence of peonies, bringing them to life. In numerous national exhibitions, his works have stood out among many submissions, earning gold medals through high artistic standards, widely affirmed and recognized for significant artistic and collection value. In 2011, he won the “Gold Medal” in CCTV’s Painting and Calligraphy Channel’s “Spring Festival Television Exhibition.” In 2013, he received the “Bronze Award” in the 3rd “Yan Huang Cup” National Poetry, Painting, Calligraphy, and Seal Carving Competition. In 2014, he won the “First Prize” in the 5th “Xi Zi Cup” National Poetry, Painting, Calligraphy, and Calligrapher Invitation Contest; the “Gold Medal” in the “Eastern Beauty” National Poetry, Couplet, Painting, and Calligraphy Competition; and the “Gold Medal” in the 6th “Motherland Good” Chinese Language and Art Competition, and was awarded the honorary title of “Top 100 Contemporary Chinese Language and Art Masters.” In 2015, he won the “First Prize” in the 3rd “Great Man’s Ode: Chinese Dream” National Poetry, Painting, and Calligraphy Competition; the “Gold Medal” in the 7th “Motherland Good” Chinese Language and Art Competition; and the “Gold Medal” in the 5th “Yan Huang Cup” International Poetry, Painting, Calligraphy, and Seal Carving Competition. With support from central government leaders and renowned scholars from the China Writers Association, China Calligraphers Association, and China Artists Association, after expert review, his works were included in the 2015 Volume of the Complete Collection of Representative Works by Contemporary Chinese and Foreign Literary and Artistic Masters. Numerous masterpieces have been collected by art collectors nationwide. In 2016, he was honored by the Ministry of Culture and China Post Group Corporation with the theme “Celebrating the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China,” and his ink paintings were issued as postage stamps, postcards, and stamp phone cards, with the inaugural ceremony held in July 2016 in Beijing.
