Personal Profile

Feng Yi; born in 1972 in Xinyuan County, Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Province; art name: Heibai Shanren; passionate about calligraphy. In 1993, his brush calligraphy work was selected for the "Tianshan Cup Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" in Xinyuan County. In 2000, his steel-pen calligraphy was selected for the "First Photography and Calligraphy Exhibition" of Xinjiang Telecommunications Company. In 2003, his steel-pen calligraphy was selected for the "Second Photography and Calligraphy Exhibition" of Xinjiang Telecommunications Company. For over twenty years, his passion for calligraphy has remained undiminished; he studies regular script in the style of Yan Zhenqing, running script in the styles of Mi Fu and Qi Gong, clerical script in the style of Yi Ying, cursive script in the styles of Zhang Xu and Yu Youren, and seal script in the style of small seal.
