Bai Gen, born in 1964 in Inner Mongolia, graduated from the Advanced Research Class at Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, a National First-Class Artist, member of the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Painting and Calligraphy Art Committee, and a student of Master Zeng Gang and Master Shi Yunxiang.
Bai Gen has been passionate about painting throughout his life, integrating life into nature and consistently practicing plein-air sketching, traveling extensively across China's famous mountains and rivers. He combines traditional brushwork and ink with modern realism, creating vivid and powerful compositions: rocks appear solid and firm, trees exude vigorous strength, swift currents churn into waves, and clouds drift dynamically—infused with a sense of everyday life. He has also explored color, maintaining artistic discipline, striving to harmonize color with ink wash, thereby achieving a cohesive and rhythmic overall composition—realistic yet lively!
