Bai Rui

Name: Bai Rui, courtesy name Zimu, born in 1992 in Shanxi, currently residing in Donghu, Wuhan, studio name Fenglin Wan.
Calligraphy, Painting, and Seal Carving: Calligraphy, proficient in regular, cursive, and clerical scripts, especially fond of Wei stele inscriptions and bronze script, adhering to simplicity and antiquity, valuing classical methods and spiritual essence. Cursive script studies Huaisu, the Two Wangs, with particular admiration for Zhu Zhishan; Regular script studies Wen Zhengming, Liu Gongquan, Ouyang Xun, and Chu Suiliang, as well as the “Twenty Masterpieces of Longmen” Wei steles; Painting, possesses basic understanding of expressive ink wash, specializes in flowers and birds, fond of outline drawing; Seal carving, has only a superficial knowledge.
Mentorship: In 2003, became a disciple of renowned calligrapher and painter Mr. Liang Xinggong (Member of the Henan Provincial Calligraphers Association, Director of Xinggong Calligraphy and Painting Academy); in 2010, became a disciple of renowned calligrapher Mr. Zhang Zhenguo (Member of the China Calligraphers Association, Professor at Beijing University, President of the Peking University Calligraphy and Painting Research Association).
