Meng Fanhua, styled Yuren, is a Master Artisan of the China Association of Industrial Designers;a Chinese Interior Decoration Artist;a member and full-time painter of the China Artisans Association;an Environmental Art Designer of the China Decoration Association;and a member and full-time painter of the China National Studies Cultural Development Association.Over the past two decades, he has traveled extensively to Yunnan, Guizhou, northwestern China, and 27 other countries in Europe for field research, gradually infusing his own emotional interpretation of art into traditional techniques, thus developing a distinctive decorative style characterized by intricate detail with an understated elegance.
In 1995, at the invitation of the Shanxi Buddhist Association, he restored the ceiling murals of the main hall at Chongshan Temple;
In 2010, his Korean paper painting series "Guardians" was exhibited at the Shanxi Academy of Painting and Calligraphy;
In 2013, his Korean paper painting series "National Soul" was displayed at the Pingyao International Photography Festival;
In 2013, his works were included in the Great Dictionary of Renowned Chinese Artisans;
In 2013, based on surviving artifacts from damaged tombs in Shanxi, he reconstructed the Four Divine Beasts murals;
In 2014, he painted a divine depiction of the dragon for the Wuye Temple at Wutai Mountain, a sacred Buddhist site; the same year, the China Artisans Association awarded him the title of "Virtuous and Artistic Master Artisan," along with a certificate and a gold-plated medal;
In 2014, the Ministry of Culture of China and the China National Studies Cultural Association conferred upon him the title of "Master of Chinese Art Inheritance," along with a certificate;
In 2015, he published his personal collection of paintings and prose essays titled "Negative Space";
In 2016, he was again honored by the China Artisans Association;
In 2016, he received the title of "Outstanding Fine Arts Artist" and an honorary certificate;
In early 2017, he created and painted "Portrait of Meng Mother" for the Taigu Meng Mother Cultural Festival, serving as the official commemorative image of Meng Mother;
In 2019, he successfully applied for recognition as a Representative Inheritor of Traditional Chinese Art (Intangible Cultural Heritage).
In recent years, he has studied and copied the works of elderly artists such as Wu Changshuo and Wu Guanzhong, developing his own unique ink-wash style of lotus paintings infused with Zen aesthetics.
