Qin Guojian, the foremost contemporary master of Chinese焦墨 landscape painting, is a renowned master of焦墨 art. Born in 1942 in Zhejiang Shaoxing, he is the founder of the innovative焦墨 landscape painting genres “Jiangnan Scenery” and “Plain Landscape.” His representative works include two hundred-meter-long scrolls, “Panorama of Ten Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains” and “Scenery of Sha-Li,” among other焦墨 landscape paintings. Viewed from afar, his works exude grandeur, distinct layers, profound artistic conception, graceful moistness, and vivid vitality; viewed up close, the brushwork reveals maturity, vigorous strength, and exquisite delicacy; mountains possess momentum, trees convey spirit, and water exhibits motion. His art emphasizes the perfect harmony between humanity and nature, embodying poetic and picturesque aesthetics with a unique style. His works also feature elegance, antiquity, fadeless color, and are suitable for permanent collection.
He serves as Senior Art Consultant at China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Publishing House (enjoying state allowance), Lifetime Professor at the Chinese Artists Creation Center, Honorary Chairman of the China Poetry-Calligraphy-Painting Alliance Network, and Vice President of the Chinese People's Artists Association.His paintings have been invited for exhibition in the United States, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions, and have been collected by national leaders, institutions, and collectors from multiple countries. His works have won over ten gold awards in major domestic and international exhibitions.
