Zhu Hongwei, born in December 1975 in Taizhou, Zhejiang. Self-studied calligraphy, guided by his parents, began with Tang regular script and later studied various masters of the Wei and Jin dynasties. In 1991, he became a student of Han Tianheng, learning calligraphy and seal carving from him. In 1993, he entered Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now China Academy of Art), where he was taught by Professors Chen Zhenlian, Zhang Zu'an, Zhu Sui zhi, and Qiu Zhenzhong. In 2010, he studied traditional Chinese painting under He Zhipu. In 2011, he became a disciple of Feng Qiyong. Currently, he is a member of the Chinese Couplet Society, vice president of Beijing Hanruixuan Painting and Calligraphy Academy, a member of the China Calligraphers Association, and a member of the Zhejiang Provincial Calligraphers Association.   In 1994, his work "Imitating the Two Wangs" was collected by the Fine Arts Academy. In 1997, his running-cursive script was selected for the National Exhibition of Works by Middle-aged and Young Calligraphers and Seal Carvers. In 1998, participated in the International Ink Ocean Elite Exhibition. In 1999, selected for the Collection of Chinese Calligraphers and awarded the Silver Prize. In 2002, his seal carving was selected for the Hundred-year Exhibition of Xiling Seal Engraving Society. In 2003, his running-cursive script was exhibited at the Hokuriku Shodoin Calligraphy Exhibition in Japan. In 2004, his fan paintings and handscrolls were exhibited separately at the Xiling Seal Engraving Society International Art Festival. In 2005, his running-cursive script was exhibited at the Hokuriku Shodoin Calligraphy Exhibition in Japan and received an Outstanding Award. In 2006, his works were printed as postcards by China Post. In 2007, his running-cursive script work was exhibited at the Taizhou Art Festival and won the Literary and Artistic Award from the Taizhou Municipal People's Government. In 2008, participated in the National Album Leaf Exhibition. In 2008, participated in the Art Circle's One Hundred Artists Charity Auction event. In 2012, participated in the 10th Han Tianheng Teacher-Student Exhibition. In 2016, won the National Folk Poetry Award. In 2020, participated in the National Anti-Epidemic Painting and Calligraphy Online Exhibition (Jinan).
