Wu Jingming, known as Chang'an Recluse, was born in 1954 in a rural area of Shaanxi. He is characterized by his upright and open nature. From a young age, he was introduced to calligraphy under the guidance of Master Xue Fan, and after fifty years of dedicated practice, though he has not achieved great fame, his devotion to the art of calligraphy remains unwavering. Since being invited by the Lanzhou Air Force in the year 2000, he has successfully held three solo exhibitions, participated in over a hundred national-level painting and calligraphy exhibitions, won multiple awards, and had his works included in major art anthologies. His works are frequently collected by national museums, memorial halls, art academies, and private collectors, and have been donated to Project Hope and charitable causes. His artistic biography has been收录 by more than ten major reference dictionaries. He has been honored with titles such as Patriotic Artist, Virtuous and Artistic Calligrapher-Painter, Intangible Cultural Heritage Protector, First-Class Artisan, and Image Ambassador. In 2018, he won the Special Prize at the National Painting and Calligraphy Competition and was awarded the title of Eastern Art Master by the Eastern Great Country Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. He currently serves as a Council Member of the Shaanxi Bashu Association, Honorary President of the Taipei Palace Museum Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, Guest Professor, Honorary Chairman of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, and Vice Chairman of the World Chinese Calligraphers Association.
