Liu Zhengjun, also known as Shuigui and Shiliu, was born in 1972 into a scholarly family in Shanghai. From an early age, he was deeply influenced by his father and developed a profound passion for art.
He studied under Mr. Zhao Zhuming, a disciple of the renowned painter Cheng Shifa, and thoroughly absorbed his teacher’s artistic精髓. Through years of dedicated study and practice, he has created a series of outstanding works characterized by a unique personal style. He excels in painting flowers and birds, landscapes, figures, and shrimp, with brushwork that is rich and substantial, vitality that flows naturally, and an artistic realm that transcends the mundane.
From childhood, Liu Zhengjun has held a distinctive perspective and deep affection for the art of nature and life. He once said: “The wind has its own touch, the sunlight carries its own scent; close your eyes, and you can feel time flowing through your fingertips with your hands. When you gaze at a tree or a blade of grass, your spirits can communicate with them. When cooking, you can transform love and heart into another kind of flavor.” He has integrated his spiritual pursuits and artistic sensibilities of daily life into his paintings, laying a solid foundational depth for his artistic expression. In his future artistic journey, he will undoubtedly radiate a unique brilliance that cannot be replicated.
His works have been published in newspapers and magazines such as the Shanghai Labor Daily and Shanghai Bund. He has been appointed as a professional painter by Shanghai Jigu Zhai, and several of his pieces have been collected by the Chinese Overseas Artists Association, earning widespread acclaim and recognition both domestically and internationally.
