Han Linhua:
Born in Shanghai in 1947. A renowned Chinese expert in carving and engraving art, painter, calligrapher, antique collector, musician, and master of Chinese craftsmanship. Born into a family of carvers, he inherited the traditional arts of seal carving, carving, fine carving, and micro-carving. His micro-carving works include ten categories: hair, pearls, ivory, crystal, jade, eggshells, fruit shells, metal stones, ceramics, and agate.
In 1966, he created the world's first hair carving.
In 1986, he created three rare micro-carving artworks in the world: a globe, a small fan, and a small vase.
In 1994, he invented the Chinese painting (on paper) fire branding art. Many of his masterpieces have been collected by Chinese museums, Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom (micro-carving), President Mitterrand of France (micro-carving), Prime Minister Tanaka of Japan (seal), foreign art galleries, and celebrities from various countries, and have received high praise at home and abroad. The Foreign Affairs Department of Shanghai Television produced a special TV program (in Chinese, English, and Japanese) to introduce his exquisite micro-carving art.
In 1985, he joined the China Overseas Chinese Party.
