Chen Da Jian, also known as Zi Hu Tang Zhu Ren, was born on May 17, 1953, in Qingpu District, Shanghai City. He is a soldier painter.

He studied under the renowned contemporary calligrapher and painter Gu Qingjiao, and also studied under the famous national figure painter Zhang Peichu. Chen Da Jian joined the army in 1972 and is a military painter. He often participated in painting creation for the military region and the logistics department. His works have been frequently selected for local and military region art exhibitions. One of his works, "New Books to the Ward," was included in the "Art Works Selection of Nanjing Military Region" and collected by the military region.

After returning from the military to civilian life, he once put down his brush for over thirty years. After retiring from his position, he picked up the brush again. Also a student of Gu Qingjiao, in 2007 he held his first solo exhibition "Da Jian's Hundred Tigers Exhibition" at the Qingpu Qu Shui Garden, which was a great success. Major newspapers and television stations in Shanghai covered the event, and he received recognition from the general public. His painting themes are extensive, covering figures, landscapes, and flowers and birds.

In 2012, he entered the Shanghai Ink Painting Circle Studio to study figure sketching. Under the guidance of the renowned national painter Zhang Peichu, he learned figure ink painting, and his ink techniques were significantly improved. His works have been selected for various art exhibitions at the city and national levels. They have also been exhibited in Japan and France, and he has won the "French Republic Honor Medal."

1972  Joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army, published more than twenty paintings in military and civilian publications, and participated in many art exhibitions of the Nanjing Military Region and Shanghai.
