Xu Wen

Xu Wen, also known as Mianshi, was born on August 18, 1947, in Shanghai City. As a youth, he studied meticulous-style flower paintings under Tao Lengyue, and later specialized in meticulous-style figures under Lu Wuchen from the Shanghai school. He once won the Japanese Painting Award in 1998, the National Art Educationist Award in 1999, the "Horse of the Year" Award at the Chinese Folk Culture Association's Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition hosted by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China in 2000, and the Bronze Award for Excellent Chinese Calligraphy and Seal Carving Works at the third overseas and domestic Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition.Shanghai Banjiang Poetry and Painting Society member, he has also loved poetry since childhood.
