Personal Profile
Ma Zhirong, male, Hui ethnicity, born in May 1975, farmer, junior high school education, member of the Communist Party of China, pen name Yunfeng, from Gucheng Town, Pengyang County, Ningxia. Since childhood, he has been passionate about painting, calligraphy, seal carving, and music; during his student years, he won multiple awards in painting, calligraphy, and seal carving. Later, due to his family's poverty, he dropped out of junior high school before graduation and returned home to farm. To make a living, he traveled extensively, and once happened to see an elderly man selling his own paintings and calligraphy on the street, which inspired him: Why not pick up the brush again and return to his old craft? Perhaps there would be rewards? Thus, he revived the artistic talent dormant for over twenty years, made a modest attempt, and found that his strokes still retained their original charm. Encouraged continuously by friends, he gradually improved, gained great confidence, and practiced calligraphy daily, feeling deeply satisfied. In the past two years, he has participated in numerous painting and calligraphy exchange activities, benefiting greatly. In 2017, he won an award in the National Online Painting and Calligraphy Competition and joined the county calligraphy association. In 2018, he participated in the regional painting and calligraphy competition, winning second prize and a seal carving award, and became a member of the Guyuan City Calligraphy Association and the Fine Arts Association. In 2019, he won third prize in the China Painting and Calligraphy Masters Competition. I hold firm to one belief: There is no Flame Mountain too difficult to cross—as long as one works diligently, studies earnestly, and perseveres, success will follow.
