Zhao Yulin, pen name Sanyou, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in art from Inner Mongolia Normal University, President of the Grassland Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of the Inner Mongolia Branch of the China Artists Association, Vice Chairman of the Baotou City Artists Association, Deputy Secretary-General of the CPPCC Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Honorary Academician of the Shenzhou Painting Academy (Singapore), Guest Professor of the Mount Tai Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, Editorial Board Member of Painter Magazine, and Special Invitee Artist of the China National Museum Gallery. His works have been profoundly influenced by renowned masters such as Hen Shi, Xu Jixian, Pan Zhicheng, and Hai Rihan. He consistently draws his foundation from the great sages of the past and takes the essence of learning from nature as his soul, striving to achieve elegance and subtlety. His representative work, “Autumn Pasture,” was selected for the “Chinese Contemporary International Calligraphers and Painters Yearbook” and exhibited at the China Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute; he has participated multiple times in national calligraphy and painting competitions, winning first, second, and third prizes respectively. His works have been included in the “China International Calligraphers and Painters Yearbook,” “Contemporary Painting Art,” “Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters: Bilingual Chinese-English Encyclopedia,” “Selected Masterpieces of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and Painters,” “World Knowledge Illustrated,” “Collection of Masterpieces of Chinese Painting,” “Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Collection Encyclopedia,” “Chinese Art Anthology,” and “Contemporary Chinese Art.” His artistic biography was included in the “Who’s Who in the World,” 1997 China Volume. His works “The Story of Spring” and “Autumn Colors of Yinshan Mountains” were included in the CD-ROM “Contemporary Chinese Artists”; his work “Autumn Colors” was selected for a postage stamp issued by China Post in 1999; in 2003, he won the National Calligraphy and Painting Masterpiece Award from the China Famous Figures Culture Research Association for the year 2002. In 2006, he participated in the “China Calligraphy and Painting Ten Thousand Li Journey,” and his work won the Opening Gold Award; in August 2007, two of his works were exhibited in revolutionary base areas by the Central Party History Society and the Party Building Department of the Central Party School to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the New Fourth Army, and were collected by the Military Museum.
