Personal Profile

Jin Liguo was born in March 1972 under Longshou Mountain in Liaoyuan, Jilin, into a scholarly family, raised on the waters of the Dongliao River. Since childhood, he has been passionate about traditional Chinese culture, especially devoted to the national art forms of calligraphy and painting. Master Jin has been deeply enamored with calligraphy and painting since early childhood, beginning his study of fundamental techniques at the age of seven. During his student years, under the meticulous guidance of his school teachers, he laid a solid foundation in painting. With keen insight, forward-thinking artistic inspiration, and innovative thinking, his works often evoke a captivating and wondrous sensation. His ink paintings begin with traditional brushwork, combining careful copying of masterpieces with plein air sketching, thereby developing his own distinctive style—ancient, elegant, refined, and uniquely charming. He takes particular pride in his mastery of Ming and Qing dynasty landscapes and classical figures.Over the past four decades of apprenticeship, he has absorbed the essence and principles of numerous outstanding masters of calligraphy and painting, persistently dedicating himself to study and creation, shaping his character. His calligraphy and ink paintings have achieved remarkable qualitative "leaps" and improvements, earning him abundant accolades in numerous domestic and international exhibitions and competitions, securing outstanding artistic achievements and numerous honors. He is currently a National First-Class Artist, Senior Art Teacher, Standing Director of the Art Development Center of China Rural Association under the Ministry of Culture, Deputy Director of the Calligraphy and Painting Professional Committee of China Rural Association, Dean of the Liaoning Branch of the Capital Museum Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Deputy Director-General of the Northeast Institute of Calligraphy and Painting, China Leaders Network, Chinese National Gift Artist, Deputy Director of the Northeast Branch of the China Famous Artists Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and a strategic cooperative artist of the Ministry of Culture's Cultural Talent Database, among other social positions.
