Zhang Fushu (Fushu Fushu), born in Tianjin in 1949. As a child, he loved painting and calligraphy. During the Cultural Revolution, he painted large portraits of Chairman Mao; when he was sent to the countryside, he participated in a painting creation class held by the county cultural center; since 1992, he has studied in the senior landscape painting class at the Tianjin Shenzhou Calligraphy and Painting Academy under Hou Chunlin. His paintings and calligraphy works were included in exhibitions, and he became a member of the Tianjin Heping and Hedong Art Associations and the Tianjin Senior Citizens' Calligraphy and Painting Research Association. He also met and became friends and mentors with several veteran painters who graduated from art schools before the Cultural Revolution, such as Guo Yongyuan, Ji Zhenmin, Ji Junyao, and Wang Xueming.
