Xu Jihui

Personal Profile

Xu Jihui, from Tianjin, born on July 29, 1940. Influenced by his family since childhood, he was a disciple of Sun Qifeng and Zhang Qiji. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and later stayed to teach. He is a member of the Palace Museum Research Association, a visiting professor at the School of Art, Tsinghua University. His works are collected by the National Museum of China, the Palace Museum, and the Great Hall of the People, and have been given as state gifts to foreign friends. In 1990, he was selected as an academician of the China Academy of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy.
