Personal Profile

Sun Wenhao, male, born in April 1963, from Tangshan, Hebei. Style name: Yanzhe, pseudonym: Yiling Yongren. He has loved painting and calligraphy since childhood. In his early years, he was involved in the design and painting of patterns for furniture factories, ancient doors, wall advertisements, etc. Since joining the Tianjin Senior Painting and Calligraphy Research Association in 2013, he has broadened his learning paths and strived to make progress. Now, he uses various learning methods such as books and videos, participates seriously in the lecture videos and correspondence courses of many famous teachers such as Xu Zhan, Jia Baomian, Liu Cunhui, and maintains a very humble attitude, insisting on learning from ancient people, masters, and those around him who are capable. He focuses on studying freehand flower and bird paintings. In 2013, he won the second prize in the "Lingao Shengshi Huize Cup" large-scale painting and calligraphy exhibition in Tianjin City. In 2014, his painting "Moyun Lengxiang" was selected for the Ninghe District Hundred Fan Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition. In the same December, he won the third prize in the "Chinese Dream Rural Sentiment" Tangshan City Farmer Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition. In 2016, his ink painting "Release the Brush to Write the Fragrance of Heaven" was selected for the inter-city painting and calligraphy joint exhibition. Many of his works have been published in books and included in the work collection by the organizers, and have been collected by friends from all walks of life at home and abroad. In 2017 and 2018, the works "Harmonious China, Auspicious Prosperity" and "Auspicious Prosperity, Spring Always Present, Flowers Like Brocade Across the Divine Country" were selected twice in the large-scale painting and calligraphy exhibitions held by the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy. In 2018, he also won the third prize in the First National Chrysanthemum Painting Grand Prize Competition. In 2019, he won the first prize in the 8th China Folk Painting and Calligraphy Excellence Competition. After decades of diligent study and continuous practice, he is now a member of the Senior Painting and Calligraphy Research Association of China, a member of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, and a senior academician of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy.
