Personal Profile

Wu Chuanjun, styled Guanshi, also known as Chanzi Sheng, Chan Zhi Sheng, and Hongxi Ju Shi. A native of Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province, his ancestral home is Xiangshui. He was nurtured in a family with a scholarly tradition. As he grew older, he studied under the renowned artist Wu Hailang, inheriting the legacy of Qi Pai. His main fields of expertise include landscape painting, flower and bird painting, and calligraphy, and he also paints figures.
Currently, he is a member of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Art Committee of the Ministry of Culture, a director of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, and a first-class art master. He is a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Artists Association, a member of the Jiangsu Flower and Bird Painting Research Association, a full-time painter at the Yancheng City Calligraphy and Painting Academy for flower and bird painting and landscape painting, a member of the Chinese Xu Beihong Painting Academy's Chinese Painting Creation Committee, the legal representative and tutor of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association Youth Calligraphy and Painting Training Base (No. 19090152), and an accredited tutor of the China Academy of Art Social Arts Training Evaluation Center.
Central Television's Art and Calligraphy Channel, Jiangsu TV International Channel's "Yangtze River Perspective" program, Yancheng TV Channel 2's "Emotional Tree" program, have all done special reports on his art. His works are widely collected by collectors at home and abroad, and have spread to the United States, New Zealand, Russia, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong. Moreover, they are collected by the Ziguang Pavilion of Zhongnanhai, Beijing Xu Beihong Memorial Hall, the Great Wall Museum of China, Beijing Honglou Cultural Art Museum, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Art Gallery, Shandong Qufu Confucius Memorial Hall, Hunan Xiangzhong Art Museum, and the Hong Kong Oriental Art Museum.
