He excels in all five scripts: regular, running, clerical, cursive, and seal. He is particularly renowned for his cursive script. His large regular script draws inspiration from Yan Zhenqing, Ouyang Xun, and Wei steles; his small regular script is influenced by Zhong Yao and Wang Chong; his running script follows the styles of Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Sun Guoting, and Mi Fu; his clerical script is rooted in the Zhang Qian Stele, the Hao Da Wang Stele, and the Liqi Stele, forming his own distinctive style; his cursive script integrates the traditions of the Two Wangs, Huang Tingjian, Huaisu, and Zhang Xu, developing a unique creative philosophy; his seal script primarily derives from oracle bone inscriptions and large seal script, incorporating elements of Wei stele brushwork to create a distinctive personal style. Having studied calligraphy for over forty years, he practices daily without ceasing, engaging in dialogue with the ancients and never allowing himself even the slightest complacency. Thus, when viewing his numerous calligraphy works—whether seal, clerical, or running-cursive scripts—one perceives a fusion of ancient and modern calligraphic charm!
