Personal Profile
Zhang Huaiwei, style name Huaiyi. I have loved wandering in the world of art since childhood, and received awards during both middle school and university. The first time I encountered traditional Chinese painting, I was deeply enchanted by its magical charm; encouraged by my teacher, I have persisted in this dedicated study until today. My paintings tend toward the literati style, emphasizing the harmonious integration of poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seal carving. In calligraphy, I particularly appreciate the childlike spontaneity that directly expresses inner feelings and naturally embodies charm. I especially love to paint the "Four Gentlemen"—plum blossom, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum. Every blade of grass and every tree possesses spirit; I enjoy seeking their rich variety in nature. Every mountain and stream holds sentiment, and I am especially fond of the local customs and human landscapes of the Jiangsu-Zhejiang region. I offer a painting of an old farmer as a gift for Father's Day, and kindly ask the editor to help make it into a cover. The set of paintings featuring plum, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum is submitted as my contribution. Thank you, dear editor! Amitabha, may the editor enjoy good health and smooth work!
