Personal Profile
Luo Weihua has been fond of traditional calligraphy and painting since childhood. He began studying clerical script in his early years, later becoming deeply fascinated with works such as the "Lanting Xu," "Duobao Pagoda," and those by Zhao Mengfu. He has consulted and exchanged ideas with many established contemporary Chinese masters, greatly benefiting from these interactions. Through continuous practice, he has ultimately developed his own distinctive style—drawing from ancient traditions while innovating—and believes that discovering one’s true self is happiness. After years of accumulation, in 2018, he participated in the competition “Searching for Folk Masters of Calligraphy and Painting” and won third prize. He later took part in “I Represent Art,” celebrating the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up, and was honored to receive the Grand Prize. He also participated in the Yellow River Calligraphy and Painting Competition and won third prize, among other accolades. He now independently founded the “Taiji Calligraphy Zen” studio. In 2019, his work received an Excellence Award in the First “Shenzhou Cup” Chinese Poetry Competition. In 2019, he was recognized for outstanding performance in cultural and artistic creation and awarded the honorary title of “National Annual Model Figure in Art.” In 2019, he was conferred the title of “First-Class Calligrapher” by the National Database of Calligraphy and Painting Masters. In 2019, he received the title of “National Gift Artist.”
