Lv Chuankang, national first-class artist, currently serves as council member of China Calligraphers and Painters Association, academician of China Calligraphy and Painting Academy, council member of International Chinese Artists Association, council member of National Talent Evaluation Committee, disciple of Liu Jincai—the last apprentice of Qi Baishi and chairman of China Calligraphers and Painters Association. Representative works include "Shrimp Fun," "Hundred Shrimps," "Rhythm of the Dragon," and "Pure Delight." Chinese name: Lv Chuankang; nationality: Chinese; ethnicity: Han; place of birth: Zhejiang; date of birth: May 11, 1962. Biography: A native of Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province, now residing in Hangzhou. Began studying painting at age 8 using classical manuals such as "Jieziyuan Huazhuan" (Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting) and "Zixi Huapu Daquan" (Complete Painting Guide for Self-Study). As a mischievous youth, raised shrimp to help support his family. Later, during young adulthood, worked in Northeast China painting glass art. In 1984, founded Yongkang's first Arts and Crafts Factory, becoming known nationwide as the "King of Sticker Art." Specializes in painting flowers, birds, insects, fish, landscapes, figures, with artistic forms characterized by simplicity, vividness, and natural charm. His depictions of fish and shrimp exude delightful spontaneity. His work "Shrimp Fun" is collected by the National Museum of China; "Pure Delight" is housed in the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting; "Rhythm of the Dragon" has been circulated to museums and private collectors in the United States, Japan, Britain, France, Thailand, Malaysia, and other countries. "Hundred Shrimps" was selected as a state gift artwork. In 2017, diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer, underwent removal of half his lung, four chemotherapy sessions, and twenty-five radiotherapy treatments. Despite enduring severe suffering from cancer, he continues to face life with a smile and persists in painting whenever possible. His story has been featured on the "Study the Great Nation" platform. Currently regarded as a leading figure in the art world.
