Artist's Biography:         Zhang Hengjiu, male, born in Tianjin city in 1959, comes from an artistic family. His mother was a soldier of the Fourth Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and his father was a technician at Hendry Watch Shop and an art connoisseur. He once studied under Professor Fan Zeng, the former head of the Department of Oriental Arts at Nankai University in Tianjin, the main painter of the oil painting "Mao Zedong Going to Anyuan", Liu Chunhua, the master painter of the portrait of Chairman Mao at Tiananmen Square, Zhang Zhenzhi, the master of Tiananmen Square's portrait of Chairman Mao, the master cartoonist Hua Junwu, the senior disciple Duan Jifu, abstract painter Han Meilin, famous oil painter Zhang Ken and Guo Changsheng, and the plastic artist Yu Baomin from Tianjin, and the Xinjiang artist Huang Zhi. Major Achievements:         In 1976, he studied at Tianjin Institute of Arts and Crafts. In 1985, he founded Tianjin Hengjiu Art Gallery. He has participated in international exhibitions and the design and layout of major exhibition halls. He is a national-level artist, a member of the China Artists Association, vice chairman of the committee for the creation of large historical oil paintings of Mao Zedong in Shaoshan, a member of the Shaoshan Artists Association, a senior art appraiser at Huasheng Hall Art Company in Hong Kong, and at the age of four, he met the great leader Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai with his older brother Zhang Hengli in Tiananmen Square. At that time, he was a Red Guard. In 1986, he received a meeting with the Mayor of Tianjin, Li Ruihuan, at the Tianjin Cultural Center's Children's Palace, and was awarded the title of "Patriotic Painter".         In 2003, he opened the Dafen Hengjiu Oil Painting Art Gallery in Shenzhen, participated in the first Shenzhen International Cultural Industry Expo's "Thousand-Person Oil Painting" creative performance and various events.         In 2007, after six years of hard work, Zhang Hengjiu completed the 163-meter "Bible Oil Painting Collection," which became the Guinness World Record for the first Chinese to paint the Bible. He was invited to have it collected by the Israel National Cathedral. That same year, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth, artist Zhang Hengjiu and Wang Weiping established a creation group with the representative of the Kuomintang in Taiwan, Chen Hongwen, and completed the 11-meter large oil painting "All Under Heaven Belongs to the People." It won the gold prize at the famous painter exhibition at the Shanghai Library on the centenary of Sun Yat-sen. It has been reported by many TV stations and media. This painting can be compared to the oil painting "Father of the Nation" at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Museum in Taiwan.         In 2008, Zhang Hengjiu collaborated with Sun Xiao, the director of the Zhongying Street History Museum in Shantou, Shenzhen, and after two and a half years of effort, finally completed the 15-meter large oil painting "The Hundred-Year Zhongying Street," which was successfully exhibited in Hong Kong and the Shenzhen Universiade, and was praised by President Hu Jintao.         In 2010, Zhang Hengjiu, together with renowned artist Chang Yuepo in Beijing's Songzhuang Artist Village, created a large acrylic artwork measuring 6 meters x 3 meters, "The Century High-Speed Railway," and applied for a preview at the Beijing Zhengyang Gate Railway Museum, successfully registering the copyright with the National Copyright Administration.         Zhang Hengjiu usually resides in Tianjin, Beijing, and Shaoshan. With his solid artistic skills and creative planning wisdom, he has stood out among his peers through his own strength. He has been hired as Vice Chairman and Art Consultant of the National Ecotourism Culture Industry Development Forum and the Memorial Meeting of the Eternal Radiance of Mao Zedong Thought. He is also an Art Consultant for the "China Tourism Encyclopedia" and has been received multiple times in Beijing by Mao Zedong's daughter Li Na and son-in-law Wang Jingqing. In 2016, he won the gold prize at the global Chinese Artists' Exhibition of "The Unsetting Sun" in Beijing, commemorating the Great Leader Mao Zedong.         Artist Zhang Hengjiu adheres to the revolutionary historical view of Mao Zedong Thought, using realistic red themes as the subject of his creations. To fulfill his mission, he came alone to Shaoshan to study and collect materials, devoted himself to large-scale oil painting creation, and served as the president and legal representative of the "Shaoshan Red Hengjiu Art Academy." He is working on new works, contributing his wisdom and strength to create a large historical oil painting of Mao Zedong with the size of 12 meters long and 2 meters high, in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 128th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birth. He is also creating a large oil painting "One Stroke to Pacify the World" and a long scroll of traditional Chinese painting "The Grand View of Mao Zedong's Hometown in Shaoshan."
