Chen Hong, a native of Bayu, holds a graduate degree in law. He has served as Deputy Director of the General Office of the Logistics Department of the former Chengdu Military Region, Political Commissar of Unit 78491, Council Member of the Chengdu Calligraphers Association, Member of the Volunteer Service Department of the Chengdu Calligraphers Association, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Jinjiang District Calligraphers Association in Chengdu, Secretary-General of the Chengdu Jincheng Generals Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and Secretary-General of the Dongpo Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of the Sichuan Academy of Arts.
His calligraphy and painting works have been included in the collections: "Generals & Master Artists Calligraphy and Painting Collection," "Sichuan Province Commemorative Exhibition on the 120th Anniversary of Mao Zedong's Birth," and the exhibition "Ink Fragrance for a Thousand Autumns, Jade Luster for Ten Thousand Years." He has participated multiple times in national and Chengdu Military Region calligraphy and painting exhibitions, winning awards on several occasions. In 2015, he participated in the National "Second Ecological Greater Southwest" Calligraphy and Painting Competition. In 2016, his work was selected for the exhibition "Generals & Master Artists Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" held at the China Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing by the Calligraphers Association of the Central State Organs, Chongqing Calligraphers Association, and other organizations, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army’s Long March. In 2016, his work was also selected for the "25-Nominated Artists Exhibition: Calligraphy and Painting Masters Visit Dingxi," as well as for national touring exhibitions hosted in Beijing, Sichuan's San Su Ci, and the Sichuan Academy of Arts; his works have been collected by the Dongpo Academy. In 2016, he participated in the Sichuan Province commemorative exhibition marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army’s Long March. In 2016, his work was selected for the 4th "Emei Mountain Cup" National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition. In 2016, he co-organized the regional exhibition in Southwest China titled "The Glory of the People," commemorating the 130th anniversary of Marshal Zhu De's birth. In 2017, he organized the exhibition "Generals & Master Artists: Orchid Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition." In 2017, his work was selected for the exhibition "Songs of Time," hosted by the Sichuan Artists Association. In 2017, his work was selected for the 4th National Exhibition of Clean Government Culture Calligraphy and Painting. He has authored and published several monographs, including "Chen Hong Calligraphy and Painting Collection," "Chen Hong Calligraphy: A Glimpse into Sinology," "Chen Hong Calligraphy: The Chan Studies Volume," "Chen Hong Calligraphy: Reflections on Life," and "Chen Hong Calligraphy: Reading the Analects."
