 Ma Yuanchun, styled Runyu, art name Taibai Yifeng, was born in 1968 in Lingqiu County, Datong City, Shanxi Province. After graduating from high school in 1988, he studied painting, specializing in traditional Chinese landscape painting. He furthered his studies at the Jinlongge Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Datong, the Nan Gong Art Museum in Taiyuan, and the Creation Base of the China International Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute under the Ministry of Culture's "First National High-Level Training Program for Outstanding Chinese Painting Talent." He has been taught by renowned artists such as Miao Chong’an, Ding Xuefeng, Lü Yun suo, Chen Zhenguo, Mei Qilin, Huo Chunyang, Guo Shifu, and Zhang Daoxing. In 1999, his work "Snow Scene at an Ancient Temple" was exhibited in the "Wei Capital Yun Gang Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition." In 2006, his work "Snowfall at Longmen" won the First Prize in the "First 'Prosperous China' National Calligraphy and Painting Competition." In 2010, his work "Windows Framing the Thousand-Year Snow of Xiling" received the "Danqing Chuancheng" Award in the National Couplets, Calligraphy, and Painting Competition; the same year, his work "Rui Xue at Taihuai" won the Gold Medal at the Third "Today's Ink and Brush" National Calligraphy and Painting Invitational Exhibition. In 2019, his work "Cloud Dragon Mountain Man Releasing Cranes" was exhibited in the Third National Exhibition of Classic Landscape Painting Copies; also in 2019, his work "Snow Charm of Guangsheng Temple" was exhibited in the "Zhaocheng Jinzang" National Fine Arts Exhibition. In 2020, his work "Spring Warms, Flowers Bloom, New Atmosphere" was exhibited in the "United in Heart, Spring Warms, Flowers Bloom — Shanxi Provincial Fine Arts Exhibition."
