Liu Wolin, male, born in 1971 in Wutai, Shanxi, graduated from the Chinese Language and Literature program at Shanxi Normal University. He is a member of the China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, a member of the Calligraphy Education Professional Committee of the Shanxi Educational Society, a council member of the Xinzhou Calligraphers Association, and a calligraphy instructor at the Department of Applied Fine Arts, Xinzhou Vocational and Technical College. Since childhood, he has been passionate about calligraphy, initially studying scripture copying and meticulously practicing the "Ling Fei Jing." After years of accumulation, at the age of fifty, he became a formal disciple of Li Shurong, a renowned calligrapher from Shanxi, specializing in Tang Dynasty large cursive script. He believes that before one writes characters, one must first cultivate character, firmly believing in the philosophy of "thick accumulation, thin release." His small regular script version of the "Heart Sutra" has been collected multiple times by domestic and international visitors to Mount Wutai. In 2017, his small regular script "Diamond Sutra" was exhibited at the inaugural "Huazhen Pavilion Cup" National Diamond Sutra Calligraphy Exhibition in Shanghai. In September 2018, his calligraphy work won the Third Prize in the inaugural national "Yipintang Cup" Calligraphy and Seal Carving Competition. In December 2018, he received the Excellence Award in the "Yingchun Cup" National Calligraphy Grand Prize Competition and was appointed as a specially invited calligrapher of Longxuan Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. That same year, his calligraphy work was collected by the organizing committee of the "Guan Yin Mountain Cup" National Calligraphy Art Exhibition. In September 2019, his work was exhibited at the inaugural "Wenbi Guanghua Cup" National Calligraphy and Seal Carving Competition. In May 2020, his work was exhibited in the Shanxi Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and Shanxi Provincial Health Commission's "United We Stand, Spring Blossoms Again" Calligraphy Competition, and the exhibited piece was donated to frontline medical workers fighting the epidemic. In September of the same year, his work was selected for the "Ninth Shanxi Province Mass Calligraphy Art Exhibition." In November 2020, he joined the China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association.
