Yan Duo, courtesy name: Moyuan, male, Han ethnicity, native of Taiyuan City, Shanxi. Born in 1958 in Huade County, Inner Mongolia. Since childhood, he has been passionate about calligraphy, specializing in running script, cursive script, and clerical script, diligently studying and imitating renowned calligraphic models such as Wang Xizhi's "Liu-Yan Two Styles" and the stele inscriptions "Zhang Qian Bei" and "Cao Quan Bei." With unwavering dedication, he carries forward the traditional spirit. Later, he meticulously studied the creative styles and artistic conceptions of masters such as Qi Gong, Wang Zhe, and Li Duo, gradually developing his own distinctive style. After decades of diligent practice, he has forged an artistic style characterized by "calmness and naturalness, graceful and restrained brushwork, strength, beauty, and elegance." Since 1990, he has consistently distinguished himself in domestic and international calligraphy and painting competitions, winning over a hundred awards including Special Prizes, First, Second, and Third Prizes, Silver Awards, and Bronze Awards.
