Dang Xiaohuo, style name (pen name) Xiao He, pseudonym Longquan Feihong, studio name Feihong Studio, is a national second-level fine arts artist. Born in Jingyang County, Shaanxi Province. Currently serves as council member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, council member of the Chinese Folk Calligraphy and Painting Research Society, specially appointed researcher at the Chinese Contemporary Masters Art Academy, member of the Shaanxi Provincial Cultural Industry Promotion Association, member of the Shaanxi Provincial Hard-Brush Calligraphers Association, member of the Shaanxi Provincal Couplets Association, deputy secretary-general of Huanglou Calligraphy and Painting Association Xi'an Branch under the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, deputy secretary-general of Western China Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of China Minister-General Calligraphy and Painting Association, vice president of Northwest Calligraphy and Painting Academy Weibei Branch, vice president of Dingzhou Branch of Shaanxi Yu Youren Calligraphy Association, council member of Shaanxi Shengshi Chang'an Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, vice president of Jingyang County Yu Youren Calligraphy Research Association, deputy secretary-general of Xunshu Wenhua Art Network Committee, and charity ambassador of Oriental Chushuai Charity Foundation. He received early artistic training from his father during childhood, initially studying regular script of the Tang Dynasty, then progressing to running and cursive scripts. Under the guidance of many renowned calligraphy masters, his skills have continuously improved. With over ten years devoted to the study of calligraphy, he has honed his craft through persistent effort. His calligraphy integrates diverse strengths, blending ancient traditions with modern expression—steady and substantial in structure, grand and unrestrained in spirit, with bold and fluent brushwork. His works have been repeatedly selected and awarded in various levels of calligraphy and painting exhibitions and competitions. His personal profile and artworks have been included in numerous websites such as Xunshu Wenhua.com, Jiayou Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Appreciation Network, China Calligraphy Review Network, Hong Kong Calligraphy and Painting Network, China Urban News Network, Sanqin Network, Shaanxi Culture Network, Shaanxi Cixiao Network, Harmonious Shaanxi Network, Western China News Network, and Shaanxi Municipal Art Window. In 2014, participated in the National Calligraphy and Painting Masters Charity Auction and was awarded the honorary title of "Love Ambassador." His calligraphic works were appraised by the China Calligraphy and Painting Valuation Center at RMB 2,000 per square chi. In February 2015, entered into the Panoramic Database of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphers and Critics. In July 2015, recommended by the American Philatelic Group Artist Selection Committee, he was elected as an "Outstanding Chinese-American Artist," and selected for the stamp series titled “Celebrating 36 Years of China-U.S. Diplomatic Relations — Outstanding Chinese-American Artists.” In July 2015, related materials including his artwork and portrait were included in the thematic "China Stamp Album" commemorating the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Approved by national postal authorities, his personal information and works were printed and issued as postage stamps known as the "National Calling Card." In July 2015, won third prize in the "Poetry China" Shaanxi Regional Online Voting Award Collection Activity. In July 2015, invited to participate in the "Masterpieces of Chinese Legacy Artists Special Stamp Project." In May 2016, his work "Chasing Dreams" was permanently collected by the Library of Ural State University, Russia. In May 2016, he was featured in a special interview by Shaanxi Broadcasting and Television Station. In June 2016, published the "Dang Xiaohuo Calligraphy Works Collection," with its title inscribed by Gao Chengji, chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Hard-Brush Calligraphers Association and vice chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Calligraphers Association, receiving widespread acclaim. In July 2016, served as deputy secretary-general of the Organizing Committee for the Second National Welcome August 1st Calligraphy and Painting Competition. In August 2016, participated in the 86th Anniversary Public Welfare Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition of the Chinese Peasants' and Workers' Democratic Party; his artwork was donated by the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the party to the Shaanxi Provincial Precision Poverty Alleviation Project. In April 2017, awarded by Yellow River Calligraphy and Painting Network as "People's Name" – Most Popular Artist Among the Public in 2017. In May 2017, conferred by the Oriental Chushuai Charity Foundation the honorary title of "Oriental Chushuai Charity Ambassador."
