 Zhang Houzhi, from Changwu, Shaanxi Province, is currently a council member of the China Online Calligraphy Alliance, Art Director of the Sotheby's Cultural Development Center, and a candidate for the Haobrand Influential Calligrapher Award, having been selected for the Brand Artistic Figures Influence List. He has received the Outstanding Work Award at the World Art Competition, the Outstanding Work Award at the 6th National Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Competition, and an Entry Award in the Adult Category at the inaugural "Calligraphy Impression" National Calligraphy and Hard-Pen Calligraphy Competition. Born into a family of calligraphers, he has been practicing calligraphy since childhood without interruption for over a decade, diligently studying from ancient steles and scrolls ranging from the Qin and Han dynasties to the Sui and Tang periods. He has visited and exchanged ideas with numerous renowned masters. His calligraphy works are characterized by their solemn elegance and graceful fluidity, earning widespread acclaim from all sectors of society.
In November 2017, he became an invited artist of the Australia Sydney China Painting and Calligraphy Network.
