Xiao Jun, a Hui ethnic person from Xi'an, is currently the Director of the Xi'an National Cultural Center and the President of the Xi'an National Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute. He is also a council member of the Shaanxi Provincial Artists Association, a council member and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Painting Committee of the Xi'an Artists Association, Vice President of the Shaanxi National Cultural Economic Promotion Association, Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Landscape Painting Research Association, researcher at the Shaanxi Chang'an Painting School Art Research Institute, and researcher at the Xi'an Collection Research Institute. In recent years, his works have been exhibited in numerous painting and calligraphy exchange exhibitions; hundreds of his works have been published in newspapers and periodicals; over ten major reference books have included entries or reproductions of his works; more than a thousand pieces have been collected by domestic and international organizations or individuals. In 1993, he held his first solo painting exhibition in Sanya, Hainan Province; the same year, he participated in the Xi'an National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in Beijing at the Nationalities Palace of Culture in Beijing. In 1995, at the invitation of Beijing Xintianyuan Art Products Company, over thirty of his works were exhibited and taught in Japan, Taiwan, and other regions, and a collaborative publication of his works was released. In 1996, he founded the Xi'an National Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute and has served as its president since then. In 1997, he participated in a ten-artist exhibition at the Shaanxi Art Museum. In 2000, he organized the Xi'an National Painting and Calligraphy Art Exchange Exhibition. In 2003, he held a solo landscape painting exhibition at the Shaanxi Art Museum, published a painting album, and convened a symposium on his works. Renowned Shaanxi painters Zhao Zhenchuan, Cui Zhenkuan, Dai Xibin, and Wen Youyan highly praised and affirmed the exhibition. Since 1996, he has organized multiple touring exhibitions and cultural exchanges of Xi'an’s national painting and calligraphy works to western provinces including Xinjiang, Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, and Inner Mongolia. In recent years, he has participated in organizing numerous painting and calligraphy exchange activities in Xi'an. He serves as chief editor of the publication “Xi'an National Culture.” In 2008, he held his third solo exhibition of new landscape and pastoral works in Xi'an. In recent years, he has published three personal painting albums and ten Chinese painting calendars. In 2011, during the Xi'an International Horticultural Exposition, he organized a national painting and calligraphy exchange event and donated painting works to the exposition. In recent years, he has established his personal painting website and multiple web pages. In 2013, he hosted the Xi'an National Painting and Calligraphy Grand Lecture Hall cultural event.
