Personal Profile

Zhang Lei, from Lantian County, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, born in 1987, has loved painting since childhood. Member of the Xi'an Artists Association, member of the China Calligraphy and Painting Association, and council member of the Northwest Calligraphy and Painting Branch. In 2008, his sketch "Mountain Village" won the third prize in Ankang City. In 2008, his watercolor painting "Scenery of Pipa Island" won the Excellence Award in the Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by the Ankang City Artists Association to commemorate the 67th anniversary of the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art. In 2009, his watercolor painting "Scenery of Pipa Island" won the Excellence Award in the Second National Youth Teachers' Landscape Sketching Competition hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial Artists Association. In 2009, his watercolor painting "Small River" won the third prize in the National Calligraphy and Painting Competition. In 2010, his oil painting "Harvest" won the second prize in the Third Landscape Sketching Competition hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Artists Association, and has been published and distributed. In 2013, his oil painting "Snow" won the second prize in the National Youth Teachers Competition hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Artists Association. In 2013, he was awarded the title of Outstanding Instructor in the "Yuan Dian Cup".
