Guo Bin, born in 1956, is originally from Xi'an, Shaanxi. A member of the China National Democratic Construction Association (CNDC) in Gansu, Standing Committee Member of the Xihé County Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), he graduated from the Advanced Research Class on High-level Theory and Painting/Calligraphy at Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts in 2015, and completed the fourth plein-air training program of the Central Committee of the CNDC Art Academy in 2016. He is currently a National First-Class Artist, member of the Gansu Artists Association, academician of the Gansu CNDC Art Academy, Honorary President of the Longyuan Wei Zheng Calligraphy and Painting Academy of Gansu, fellow of the Shaanxi Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, council member of the Shaanxi Poetry, Painting and Calligraphy Research Society, painter of the Shaanxi Landscape Painting Research Society, council member of the Sheng Tang Academy of Painting and Calligraphy of Shaanxi, contracted artist of the Great Tang Culture and Art Society of Shaanxi, academician of the China Education Television CETV Ink and Wash Painting Academy, and advisor to the Lanzhou Democratic Parties Art Workers Association. For many years, he has devoted himself with craftsmanship to the study of landscape painting, tirelessly practicing his brushwork. He has consistently explored the research of dry-brush ink landscape painting, skillfully employing ink and brush techniques to develop his unique artistic style—his works are characterized by vigorous, robust, richly textured, unconventional, majestic yet elegant brushwork, imbued with profound spirit and charm. In November 2017, he successfully held his solo exhibition "Dry Ink,寄托情思" ("Dry Ink, Conveying Emotions") at the China National Academy of Painting, National Exhibition Art Center. In October 2017, he held a three-month dry-brush ink landscape painting exhibition on the Xi’an subway map. In May 2018, two of his works were auctioned and collected at the Shenzhen Cultural Expo. His works have been selected multiple times for national and provincial painting and calligraphy exhibitions and have won awards; a personal art album has been published. The State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Enterprise Observer, Shaanxi Daily, Lanzhou Evening News, Shaanxi TV’s "Shijieguan" Magazine, Shaanxi Religious Culture Magazine, Famous Masters and Masterpieces, People’s Political Consultative Conference Newspaper, Zhoushanzhi Shui Newspaper, Xuezhe Du xie Newspaper, and numerous other media outlets and online platforms have conducted interviews and reports on him. His ink paintings have been collected by relevant institutions and individuals.
