Wang Wei, also known as Shi Yao and Pinhantang, is from Xunyi, Shaanxi. A post-90s young artist, he has been passionate about literature, ink, and epigraphy since childhood. His calligraphy draws inspiration from Qin and Han steles and follows the tradition of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi from the Jin and Tang dynasties. He initially studied painting and calligraphy under Professor Du Daowei from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. During university, he systematically studied classical poetry, prose, painting, and calligraphy by renowned masters throughout history, with particular emphasis on large-scale expressive bird-and-flower painting, following the styles of Qingteng, Bada Shanren, and Wu Changshuo. He is currently studying painting and calligraphy under masters Zhang Zhen and Wang Zhengliang. He is now a member of the Shaanxi Artists Association, Xi'an Calligraphers Association, and Shaanxi Society for Chinese Studies and Art Research.
In 2018, his collaborative painting and calligraphy works were exhibited at the HP Art Gallery, Shaanxi Academy of Painting Art Exchange Center.
In 2019, he participated in the first "Carrying Love Forward" Invitational Exhibition of Painting and Calligraphy Masters in Taishan.
In 2019, he participated in the exhibition celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China hosted by Chenxiang Book Society.
