Geng Jian, styled Chichan, dharma name Nengxian, art names Qingxi Sanren, Guyu Shanren, Xinlu Jushi; native of Chang'an, and a direct disciple of Master Zhang Xuguang of Beilan Ting. Currently a member of the Lan Ting Calligraphy Society, a calligrapher of the Lan Ting Calligraphy Academy, Beijing Rongbaozhai Calligraphy Academy calligrapher, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, Shaanxi Provincial Calligraphers Association member, painter at the Xi'an Chinese Painting Academy, member of the Shaanxi Provincial Artists Association, member of the Shaanxi Provincial Chinese Zhouyi Research Society, and member of the Chinese Poetry Association.

Has studied calligraphy for over twenty years. Initially trained in Tang dynasty regular script and Han dynasty clerical script, later immersed himself in the study of Shu Pu, Shengjiao Xu, Seventeen Posts, and various cursive script models, while also studying the styles of Zhao Mengfu, Zhang Xu, Huaisu, Su Shi, Mi Fu, Wen Zhengming, Dong Qichang, and other ancient masters. Through seasons of cold and heat, he has never ceased practicing at the inkstone. Drawing essence from classical works, he integrates modern aesthetics to cultivate individuality. He excels in all script styles, with primary focus on running and cursive scripts. In painting, he draws inspiration from the "Jieziyuan Painting Manual," dedicating particular effort to the styles of Bada Shanren, Xugu, Xu Wei, and Qi Baishi. Beyond calligraphy and painting, he is passionate about literature, poetry, music, and design, aiming to integrate diverse arts to enrich his creative expression. His calligraphy and painting favor antiquity and scholarly elegance, pursuing a refined, vigorous, free, and natural aesthetic.
