Personal Profile

Li Jizhe, from Binzhou City, Xianyang, Shaanxi Province, was born in 1963. A member of the Communist Party of China, he holds a university degree. He began working in 1982, graduated from the China Calligraphy and Painting Correspondence University in 1990, and completed his studies in Economic Management at the Central Party School Correspondence College in 1995. Since childhood, he has had a deep passion for calligraphy and has diligently studied the brushwork of renowned masters such as Yan Zhenqing, Liu Gongquan, and Zhang Xu, rigorously training in fundamental skills. Building upon traditional foundations, he has gradually developed his own distinctive style, particularly excelling in running-cursive and banner script. While drawing inspiration from ancient calligraphic techniques, he meticulously studies the compositional essence of masterpieces, placing greater emphasis on innovative expression. His works embody a harmonious beauty that appears naturally organic. Over a hundred of his pieces have been published in various newspapers and magazines, earning him acclaim from the calligraphy community and society at large. In the inaugural "China Calligraphy Academy Cup" Calligraphy Competition in 2018, he won the Silver Award; in 2019, he received the First Prize in the National Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting Exhibition "Hanmo Fenghua"; the Gold Award in the National "Belt and Road, Chinese National Gift Cup" Calligraphy and Painting Competition celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC; and the Special Gold Award in the inaugural "Chinese Splendor Cup" Global Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Competition in 2019. In the second "China Calligraphy Academy Cup" Competition in 2019, he again won the Special Gold Award. He is currently a Academician of the China Calligraphy Academy, a First-Class Calligrapher, a member of the Chinese Overseas Calligraphers and Painters Association, and an Academician of the Qin-Han Style Art Research Institute. He has been awarded the title of "National Calligraphy Elite Figure" by the China Calligraphy Academy and "Contemporary Inheritor of Poetry, Calligraphy, and Painting" by China Hundred Cultural Network and Century Hundred International Cultural Development Center. In June 2019, after review and verification by the expert panel of the China Cultural Arts Talent Management Center, he was officially enrolled in the China Cultural Arts Talent Database.
