Zou Shaobin was born in 1961 in Chang'an District, Xi'an.
Currently:
Shaanxi Provincial Calligraphers Association Member;
Director of the Shaanxi News Calligraphy and Painting Association;
Member of the Shaanxi Yu Youren Calligraphy Society;
Member of the Shaanxi Provincial Government Huanglou Calligraphy and Painting Society;
Director of the Chinese Literati Calligraphy and Painting Association;
Member of the Xi'an Calligraphers Association;
Executive Director of the Liu Gongquan and Fan Kuan Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute;
Vice President of the Xi'an Fengjing Calligraphy and Painting Institute.
Since childhood, he has been deeply passionate about calligraphy. Since starting work in 1981, he has practiced daily without interruption, primarily studying the styles of Ouyang Xun, Yan Zhenqing, and Liu Gongquan, while also learning Wei stele inscriptions and Han dynasty clerical script. He treats calligraphy as a close friend, becoming utterly devoted to it. His calligraphy works have won awards in numerous competitions at provincial, municipal, and national levels, and have been repeatedly published in newspapers such as the Xi'an Daily, Xi'an Evening News, and Sanqin Metropolitan News.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, he has recently become increasingly dedicated to charitable causes.
On the evening of July 1, 2017, at the Lions Club Charity Art Auction in Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, his four-foot scroll bearing the phrase "Family Harmony Brings Prosperity" was auctioned for 5,000 yuan, with proceeds donated to support impoverished students in western China.
In 2019, at the annual换届 and Art Charity Auction hosted by the Fuhui Service Team of the Guangdong Lions Club at the Sanhe Hotel in Dongguan, his calligraphy piece "A Noble Room, Fragrant Orchids" was sold for 2,000 yuan. All proceeds from this and other artworks were donated to impoverished students in Sichuan, Guizhou, Hunan, and Tibet.
