Personal Profile
Liu Zhijun, male, born in 1943, is from Jixian, Shanxi. Since childhood, he has studied ancient paintings and researched classical Chinese painting theories and techniques. His ink paintings have been selected numerous times for major domestic and international art exhibitions and have won over a dozen gold medals.
He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the China Cultural and Art Development Federation, Council Member of the China National Painters Association, Honorary President of the Beijing Yihai Shenzhou Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Honorary Academician and Guest Professor of the Royal Academy of Arts, UK.
In 2009, his ink painting "Driving Donkeys" won the Gold Medal at the "Grand Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the Jinxiu Zhonghua Cup National Calligraphy and Painting Competition."
In 2010, his ink painting "Joyful Donkey Driving" won the First Prize at the "National Senior Calligraphers and Painters Excellent Works Tour Exhibition for the Shanghai World Expo"; his ink painting "Herding Donkeys and Practicing Martial Arts" was exhibited at the Contemporary Art Exhibition of the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou.
In 2011, his ink painting "Wang Xizhi Observing Geese and Studying Calligraphy" won the Gold Medal at the "Lanting Art Exhibition National Calligraphy and Painting Competition" held in Beijing.
In 2012, his ink painting "Melodies Entering the Ears" won the Gold Medal at the "First National Exhibition of Chinese and Overseas Chinese Ceramic Artworks" in Beijing; his ink painting "Pastoral Melody" won the Gold Medal at the "China Calligraphy and Painting Masters Exchange Exhibition for the Korea Yeosu Expo"; his ink painting "Pastoral Melody" was invited to participate in the China Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition at the Louvre Museum in France.
In 2013, his ink painting "Donkey Herding Field" was exhibited at the 23rd International Chinese Cultural Arts Festival held in Russia and received the "Top 100 Calligraphy and Painting Award"; his ink painting "Shihao Official" was selected for the National Ink Painting Competition commemorating the 1300th Anniversary of Du Fu's Birth.
In 2015, his panda ink painting "Delicious to Eat" was invited to participate in the New York Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations.
My artistic achievements and works have been included in the "Dictionary of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Masters," "Dictionary of Artists of the People's Republic of China (Latest Edition)," "World Dictionary of Art and Literature Masters," and "Leaders of China's Art World." China National Fine Arts Network, China International Culture and Art Network, and the Chinese Art Exchange Promotion Association have introduced my artistic accomplishments.
