  Cao An   Shanghai native. His grandfather was a scholar in the Qing Dynasty. His father was a veteran of the Kuomintang, participated in the Revolution of 1911 and the Northern Expedition, served as the confidential secretary to翁 Wen-hao, the Minister of the Executive Yuan of the National Government, and was also a calligrapher. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he worked in the Secretariat of the East China Military and Political Committee. He was immersed in the art of calligraphy from his grandparents since childhood, and was particularly fond of the cursive scripts of Wang Xizhi, Zhang Xu, and Huai Su, and was especially skilled in cursive script.

  Since his middle school years, he has been passionate about calligraphy, constantly practicing it for over fifty years, and also consistently engaged in bodybuilding, which he has maintained for over fifty years. His calligraphy works are fluid and powerful, and his physique is robust with well-developed muscles. He was the director of the "New Home" program on the Shanghai TV Station's Life and Fashion Channel. Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Xin Tai Media Co., Ltd. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he accompanied Master Liu Haisu and Xia Yiqiao twice to Mount Huang. In 2004, he wrote the five big characters for the "Australia-China Weekend News", and the newspaper's logo has been used for 15 years until now, becoming well-known and respected in Australia. Later, Zhou Zhigao also wrote the supplement for this newspaper. On September 3, 2018, he participated in the 10th Shanghai Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition. On October 27, 2018, he joined the Chinese Film Fan Union and was awarded two shareholding certificates personally presented by the film tycoon Deng Jianguo. In recent years, he has received the entry certificate from the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Artists' Talent Database and the National Calligraphy and Painting Master Database Evaluation Committee - "National Level Fine Artist", "Chinese Outstanding Artist" - Cao An. In recent years, he has frequently (almost once a week) participated in various calligraphy and painting auction activities and charity auctions, receiving much praise.
