Since childhood, he has been deeply passionate about painting and calligraphy, extensively studying famous calligraphic models and masterpieces, and has persistently practiced for decades, developing a unique artistic style. Reviewing his numerous landscape and flower-bird paintings, one finds a fusion of traditional ink-wash freehand style with modern ink-and-color aesthetics: his landscapes retain classical tradition while avoiding rigidity, achieving liveliness without sacrificing discipline! Particularly in the use and adaptation of color, Mr. Zhang Yuqi not only deeply understands the essential nature of natural colors but also fully integrates them with his personal artistic sensibility, resulting in a rich, misty, and luminous chromatic atmosphere in his works! The interplay of water, color, and ink is extraordinarily varied, creating a powerful visual impact. His works embody refined sentiments and contemporary aesthetic values, not only expanding the creative context of traditional Chinese painting but also revealing to the world a distinctive visual space and spiritual realm—appealing to both connoisseurs and the general public, rich in enduring charm!

Mr. Zhang Yuqi’s calligraphy integrates the strengths of numerous masters. His calligraphic works reach the elegance of the Wangs (Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi) and descend into innovative individuality, truly demonstrating broad absorption and self-defined standards! It is precisely because of this that when viewing his works, one perceives a profound ancient charm rooted in classical tradition—his brush follows ancient essence, and his style stands out remarkably! In terms of character structure and compositional layout, he has successfully fused the aesthetic appeal of calligraphy with the simplicity of classical methods. Each character exudes elegance and grandeur, with a noble bearing; within the lines, one perceives discipline even in boldness, and restraint even in transcendence, with seamless rhythm and flow!
