Hao Xuechen, style name Zhongyi, is from Guanxian, Shandong Province, currently residing in Jinan. He holds a bachelor’s degree, is a member of the Communist Party of China, and holds the professional title of Research Fellow. He formerly served as Director of the Maintenance Department at the Ludong Branch of Shandong Hi-Speed Group, Deputy Director of the Weiru Project Office and Deputy Director of the Delongyan Railway Project Office at Shandong Hi-Speed Group; Vice Chief Engineer of Shandong Railway Investment Company; Vice General Manager of Jin-Yu-Lu Railway Corridor Company; and Advisor of Shandong Railway Development Fund Company. He is also a visiting professor at Shandong University.
Since childhood, he has been passionate about calligraphy, consistently practicing and copying classical models during his university years. Influenced by several renowned calligrapher friends during his professional career, he has long diligently studied and copied famous historical calligraphy masterpieces, persistently writing without ceasing. He is currently a member of the Shandong Calligraphy and Painting Association, a recognized Chinese Art Figure, and a National Gift Artist; a council member and vice president of the Hongteng Huapei Calligraphy and Painting Academy under the Shandong Calligraphy and Painting Association; a member and standing council member of the Shandong Confucianism Development Promotion Association; and was named “Most Influential Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Master” in 2021. His calligraphy skillfully employs side strokes to create dynamic composition, combining central and side strokes with powerful, thick brushwork, rich ink tones, and profound spiritual depth. His works are dignified, grand, substantial, and elegant, naturally beautiful and appealing to both refined and popular tastes, earning widespread admiration from the general public, calligraphy enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and collectors. Many entrepreneurs have sought him out to inscribe plaques and signage for their companies. He is humble, sincere, kind-hearted, and upright, strongly advocating and dedicating himself to “bringing calligraphy art into every household.” He actively promotes traditional Chinese culture, diligently creating without pursuing fame or profit, generously offering his services and selling his works at ultra-low, zero-profit prices, earning the trust and favor of the public, calligraphy lovers, entrepreneurs, collectors, and all sectors of society. His works have won numerous awards in national, provincial, and municipal calligraphy and painting competitions and have been sold across 25 provinces and regions nationwide, with a monthly sales record reaching 211 pieces. In particular, his calligraphy works such as “Fu” (Fortune), “Shou” (Longevity), “He” (Harmony), “Shun” (Smoothness), and “She De” (Let Go and Gain) carry auspicious meanings of blessing, offering good fortune, celebrating longevity, and promoting harmony. These works are widely loved and collected by the public, entrepreneurs, calligraphy enthusiasts, and collectors. In 2021, he won the Silver Award in the 21st National Calligraphy and Painting Competition “Langya Xizhi Cup”; in the same year, he won the Gold Award in the Second National Calligraphy and Painting Competition “Guocui Chuancheng Cup.” In 2021, his works were selected for inclusion in the thematic collection “Red Classics: Tribute to the Centenary,” published as the large-scale documentary collector’s stamp album “Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China,” and he was honored with the title of “National Gift Artist.” His “Fu” character was sought after and collected by “Brother Fu,” a renowned collector of “Fu” characters in Beijing.
