Mao Xuxiao, styled Jingzhi, known as the Master of Qingzhai, is from Guangrao, Shandong Province, and currently resides in Binzhou City, Shandong. He is a member of the China Calligraphers Association, the Chinese Poetry Society, and the China Couplets Association; a National First-Class Art Master; a committee member of the China Calligraphy and Painting Art Guidance Committee; an academician of the Beijing Century Celebrity International Calligraphy and Painting Academy; vice president of the Beijing Jinghuage Calligraphy and Painting Academy; vice president of the Hong Kong Calligraphers Association; an advisor to the Binzhou City Calligraphers Association; executive vice president of the Yellow River Delta Calligraphy and Painting Academy; and executive vice president of the Hongru Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Qufu, Shandong. More than thirty collections of his works have been published, including poetry anthologies such as "Qinghe Collection" and "Qingzhai Poetry and Ink," calligraphy publications such as "Award-Winning Calligraphers of the 3rd China Chongyang Award," "A Great Master: Special Issue on Mao Xuxiao," "Calligraphy Masters of the Belt and Road: Mao Xuxiao," "Special Issue on Mao Xuxiao for the Centenary of the Founding of the CPC," and "World Art Appreciation: China Style - Special Issue on Mao Xuxiao."
In 2019, the China Calligraphers Association awarded Comrade Mao Xuxiao the title of "Artist with Virtue and Talent." In September 2020, with approval from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the art collection "The Belt and Road: National Card - Contemporary Art Masters: Mao Xuxiao, Huang Yongyu, Jin Shangyi" was issued and distributed along the Belt and Road countries. In November, two of Mao Xuxiao's calligraphy works were collected by the Yale Center for British Art. That same month, China Central Television broadcast the program "Inheriting Chinese Culture and Promoting National Essence: The Artistic Master of the Era, Mao Xuxiao." Institutions such as the China Calligraphy and Painting Professional Title Evaluation Center conferred upon Mao Xuxiao titles including "People's Artist." In June 2021, Mao Xuxiao won the "First Prize" in the 13th "Pearl of the Jing-Jin-Ji Corridor" Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by the Hong Kong Calligraphers Association.
Mao Xuxiao has also achieved notable accomplishments in poetry composition. In 2008, his poems were selected for the "Second Huaxia Poetry Award Anthology." In 2010, fourteen of his poems were included in "Selected Poems of Qi-Lu Over a Century." In 2016, twenty of his poems were selected into the "Collection," Shandong Volume, compiled by the Chinese Poetry Society.
Through years of diligent effort, Master Mao Xuxiao's reputation in calligraphy has grown significantly, making him a renowned master of calligraphy both domestically and internationally.
