Personal Profile
       Yang Shuhua was born in 1938 in the hometown of Yang Xun, Shandong Province. In the 1960s, he engaged in fine arts work in the military, specializing in painting horses, cattle, and sheep, as well as flowers, birds, and figures.
 
       He is currently a member of the China Artists Association, a national gift artist, a National First-Class Artist, Honorary Chairman of the World Chinese Artists Federation, a member of the China Retired Professors Association (Ministry of Education, Doctoral Supervisor · Lifetime Professor), an art critic, and a recipient of the World Celebrity Award. His biography is included in numerous authoritative references such as Chinese Figures Encyclopedia, Dictionary of High-Level Professional Technical Talent, Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Collection Bible, China Century Experts Encyclopedia, World Artistic Masters Directory, and Chinese Talents. Prior to retirement, he served as a Senior Journalist for the China Education Daily and as a member of the Shanxi Branch of the China Writers Association, having authored eight specialized books.
 
       His artworks Code of Medical Ethics Posters of the People’s Republic of China and Self-Care Illustrated Handbook for Primary and Secondary School Students were published by Shanxi People’s Publishing House and won first prizes nationally for outstanding books and fine art works. Works such as Gallop of the Noble Horse, Summer Lotus, and Oath have received major domestic and international awards. In recent years, he has published Collection of Yang Shuhua’s Paintings, Yang Shuhua’s Calligraphy Art, Yang Shuhua’s Ink Wash Art, Yang Shuhua’s Sketch Art, as well as Sowing Hope and Love Builds Dreams (a collection of reportage and prose). He has held solo exhibitions and participated in artistic exchanges in Beijing, Guangzhou, Foshan, Shenzhen, Qingdao, Yantai, Taiyuan, and internationally in Bangkok, Thailand; Paris, France; South Korea; and the United States. His works are collected by museums, art galleries, and embassies in multiple countries.

       Ink-wash horse artworks: RMB 88,000–128,000 per square foot
       Flower-and-bird artworks: RMB 40,000–56,000 per square foot
       Portraits of great figures: RMB 120,000–158,000 per square foot
       Calligraphy artworks: RMB 10,000–38,000 per square foot
