       Zhang Cunyi, also known as Zhang Chunyi, pen name Bu Yun, was born in 1957 in the hometown of Zhuang Zhou. He is a renowned Chinese calligraphy master and a towering figure in the Chinese calligraphy world. He formerly served as a professor at Tsinghua University Academy of Fine Arts, a mentor for the advanced research program at Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, deputy chief editor of Jingyun Ink and Wash Magazine, council member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, council member of the Taipei Artists Association, vice president of the National Gift Artistic Artists Association, and council member of the Central Party and Government Organs Calligraphers Association, vice president of the National Gift Artistic Artists Association.
       His work "Golden Monkey Presents Longevity" was selected for the National Exhibition in 1981 and designated by the state as a national souvenir postcard; the stamp has been collected by over 160 museums worldwide. In 1986, his work "Horse Achieves Success" was selected for the National Art Exhibition organized by the China Artists Association and won an award; it was published by the People's Fine Arts Publishing House and collected by the China Art Museum. In 1991, his clerical script work "Integrity Wins the World," exhibited in a national invitation exhibition, won the gold medal and was collected by Ms. Dong Mingzhu. His calligraphy and painting works have been published by dozens of authoritative institutions, including "The Fifth China Flower-and-Bird Collection," "Asian Art," "Ceramics and Art," "China Fine Arts Service Newspaper," "China Aviation Magazine," "Collection of Works by National Masters," "China Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper," and "Fine Arts Newspaper." The work "Linjiangxian" is permanently collected by the People's Artists Association; "Tian Xing Jian" was selected for the China Double Hundred Public Welfare Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; "Child Paying Homage to Guanyin" won the second prize in the National Calligraphy and Painting Zen Art Contest. In 2019, Master Bu Yun’s works were appraised and certified by the Expert Panel of the Committee for Evaluation and Authentication of Contemporary Chinese Artworks, with a recognized valuation standard of RMB 40,000 per square foot. His works possess significant collection value and appreciation potential.
