He has traveled throughout China's famous mountains, rivers, and scenic wonders, deeply sensing the spirit and rhythm of flying birds, wild animals, fish, and shrimp. Viewing his paintings of "rare birds," one feels as if entering a paradise filled with joyful birds; observing his "journey across the desert," it's like walking beside camel bells across endless Gobi; reading his "great peng spreading its wings," one seems to witness firsthand the mighty eagle soaring through the sky; savoring his "tiger roaring in the forest," one profoundly feels the awe-inspiring power and heroic vigor; appreciating his "flock of carp leaping toward morning light," one strongly senses a feeling of freedom and joyous leap toward beautiful hopes... Mr. Cai Ke'gang does not merely use ink and brush to depict the forms of all things in nature—what truly impresses viewers is the profound implication hidden within the unpainted spaces of his works.
