Personal Profile

Hao Chuande, a native of Jinan, Shandong, was born in May 1948. His courtesy name is Mingxuan, and he is also known as the master of Jingjian Studio. Since childhood, he has been deeply passionate about calligraphy and painting. From an early age, he practiced tracing red characters and copying classical calligraphic models, diligently practicing without interruption, absorbing the essence of renowned calligraphers and painters throughout history. He has long devoted himself to studying and imitating the regular scripts of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan, the running and cursive scripts of Huai Su and the Two Wangs, and taking the seal scripts of Zhao Zhiqian, Wu Changshuo, and Deng Shiru as his foundation, persistently practicing them until his skills greatly improved. Gradually, he developed a distinctive calligraphic style characterized by solemn dignity, profound simplicity, elegant refinement, gracefulness, and boldness. His works have been exhibited in numerous calligraphy and painting exhibitions and have won awards; many of his pieces have been published in various periodicals. Television stations have interviewed and broadcasted his work on multiple occasions. His works are included in the book “Chinese Calligraphers.” His representative works include the seal script pieces “Ten Thousand Dragons,” “Ten Thousand Longevity,” and “Ten Thousand Blessings” (70 meters long and 1.36 meters wide). The “Ten Thousand Longevity” and “Ten Thousand Blessings” have been engraved in the stele forest of the Ginkgo Village in Tancheng, Shandong, which can be considered the largest in the world. He currently serves as Director of the China National Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Vice President of the Chinese Loving Heart Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Deputy Secretary-General of the Confucius Academy of Painting, Member of the Confucius Institute of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Research, Member of the China International Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, Vice President of the Shandong Celebrities Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Member of the Shandong Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, and Member of the Qilu Academy of Painting and Calligraphy.
