Personal Profile
      Hu Pengtu, pen name Jin Xu, was born in 1959 in Yingkou, originally from Laizhou, Shandong. He is currently a member of the Art Committee of Liu Dawei and Li Yansheng Studio at the China National Academy of Painting; a visiting professor at the Liu Qian Art Research Institute; a council member of the China National Painters Association; an executive council member of the Thailand-China Artists Federation; and a member of the Tianjin Calligraphers Association. He holds the title of First-Class Artist and has been honored as one of the “Hot Investment Figures in Contemporary Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Market” and among the “Top 100 Chinese Figure Painters with Academic Value.”       Major works include: the 103-meter ink painting scroll “Five Thousand Years of Civilization Welcoming the Olympics,” the “Ethnic Customs Series,” the “Impressions of Labrang Series,” the “Legends of Celebrities and Literati Series,” “Hundred Fans Painting,” and the ink painting scroll “Ancestral Master Lu Ban Scroll,” among others.       Published works include: “Contemporary Master Painter: Jin Xu Ink Painting Collection,” “Top 100 Contemporary Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Masters: Hu Pengtu (Jin Xu) Fan Painting Album,” and “Series of Contemporary Chinese Art Masters: Jin Xu,” among other art albums.     His works have won the Special Prize at the Louvre World Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition in France; many of his works have been collected by collectors in Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and other Southeast Asian countries.
