Zhou Weidong (Da Zhou Shiqiao)

  Da Zhou Shiqiao: Originally named Zhou Weidong, also known as Shiqiao, 84th generation descendant of Duke Zhou (Yuan Sheng), "Chuan" generation. Studied under Professor Zhang Pusheng, Vice President of Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts. Visiting Professor at Renmin University of China, Executive Tutor at Chen Bocheng Landscape Studio, Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, External Graduate Supervisor at the School of Art, Shandong Jianzhu University, Member of the China Calligraphers Association, Director of Da Zhou Shiqiao Populus Euphratica Art Museum, Editor-in-Chief of "Chinese Classics and Collection" magazine, etc.     Participated in the 5th National Exhibition of New Artists and New Works organized by the China Calligraphers Association, the National Calligraphy Exhibition of Coal and Electricity Cup, the 9th National Carving Art Exhibition, the 14th International Carving Art Exchange Exhibition, and the Three Major Exhibitions of Painting, Calligraphy and Seal Carving hosted by Xiling Seal Society; received Excellence Award at the 13th Flower-and-Bird Painting Exhibition; selected for the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th National Flower-and-Bird Painting Exhibitions, winning the Third Prize at the 4th. "My Populus Euphratica Dream" was selected for the 3rd National University Art Illustration Exhibition sponsored by the China Artists Association. In July 2013, visited museums and conducted artistic field trips in London, Cambridge University, York, Leeds, Windermere Lake District, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, England, and Scotland, UK.   Invited to participate in the 10th China Art Festival in October; published over 30 personal monographs.    Da Zhou Shiqiao, Chinese Populus Euphratica painter, may be said to have unexpectedly turned around and found silent blossoms. He travels thousands of miles, paints natural scenery, expresses genuine emotions, and befriends people from all directions. Once ventured alone into the great desert, traveling over 10,000 kilometers deep into both northern and southern Tianshan Mountains for Populus Euphratica sketching and creation. In recent years, he has explored and created finger-painting works, and held the "Populus Euphratica Sentiment, Chinese Dream" series of painting and calligraphy exhibitions in Beijing, Tianjin, Jinan, Qingdao, Heze, Wudang Mountain, Korla, and other places. Published multiple influential painting and calligraphy collections, earning a strong reputation in the art world.
