Personal Profile

Ren Xixu, male, 64 years old, retired from Gaomi City Center for Disease Control. Since childhood, he studied calligraphy under his father’s guidance, learning classic stele scripts such as "Jiucheng Palace," "Huangfu Stele," "Qinli Stele," and "Duobao Pagoda," specializing in regular script and running-cursive script. Later, he graduated from the Correspondence University of Chinese Calligraphy and received guidance multiple times from renowned calligrapher Mr. Cai Shenglu. Currently, he is a member of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association and the Shandong Calligraphers Association. In 2010, he was honored as a "Cultural Celebrity of Gaomi City" by the Gaomi Municipal Party Committee and included in the "Cultural Celebrities Talent Pool" by the Weifang Municipal Government. Major Artistic Achievements: 1987: Second Prize in Hard Pen Calligraphy at the Second Shandong Provincial Calligraphy Exhibition (hosted by Shandong Calligraphers Association) 1997: Selected for the World Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition (hosted by China Calligraphers Association and China Artists Association) 1999: Bronze Award at the Third International Golden Goose Cup Calligraphy Exhibition (hosted by the United States) 2002: Exhibited at the China Rizhao Summer Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition (co-hosted by Jiangsu Calligraphers Association and Shandong Calligraphers Association) 2002: Awarded the title of “Top 100 Calligraphers of Weifang City” 2005: Exhibited at the Fourth Shandong Provincial Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition (hosted by Shandong Calligraphers Association) 2005: Selected for the Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society International Art Festival (hosted by Xiling Seal Engravers’ Society) 2010: Exhibited at the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association Regular Script Grand Exhibition (hosted by China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association) 2011: Exhibited at the CCTV Calligraphy and Painting Channel New Year Greeting Exhibition 2013: First Prize at Shandong Provincial Health System Calligraphy Exhibition (hosted by Shandong Calligraphers Association and Health Department) In recent years, he has studied Wei stele script and Li Yong’s calligraphy, attempting to integrate the angular brushwork of Wei stele into Tang dynasty regular script, earning praise from many colleagues and friends.
